Thursday, July 22nd, 2010I took my dog for a walk and her face swelled up when we got back
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010I have a small 18 month old female collie. Around 20 – 30 mins after taking her out on an overgrown track (grass, nettles etc) her face began to ripple and swelled to more than twice its size within seconds, in front of my eyes. Her eyes were ‘Chinese’ looking and she basically looked like a Staff Bull Terrier. She did not seem distressed, was eating and drinking as normal and swallowing and barking OK. The swelling has gone down quite a bit this morning and she is still eating OK. She has been up this track many times, but not for a couple of weeks due to the overgrowth. Could this be a bite or sting?

14 y/o cocker-poo has choking problem
Thursday, May 20th, 2010Hi, I am hoping you can help me with my cocker poo, she is 14 years old today, she seems to have what sounds like a choking sound , it starts off like she is gasping and then clears her throat, she does not wear a collar, we only use the harness on her since day one, I am not sure if it is allergies or a trachea problem. Sometime ago I had a heart ultrasound done for her because one vet thought that it would be her heart so $350.00 dollars it was not , thank God
What do you think it could be?
Thank you for your time

Friday, April 30th, 2010Jack Russel with spine problems
Wednesday, April 28th, 2010Our Jack Russel is (10 yrs) having a re-occurrence of a condition she had 5 years that was diagnosed as a bulging disc by one vet and a spinal fluid infection by a specialist in Indianapolis IN.
She was blind before but vision returned with steroid treatment. This time she was having spasms and sensitivity on her left hind quarters. She is now on prednizone and a muscle relaxant…our big concern now is her inability to control her bowl movements
What can you suggest for further treatment?
Incision developed lump. Question on it
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010My 11 month old Dane had OCD surgery this passed Tuesday. He is very hyper from being in the crate, he was prescribed Ace and Tramdol. He is around 150 pounds, we have tried keeping him off the leg as much as possible. His stitches looked good, he appeared like he was healing well, and today he has developed a lump filled with fluid ( feels like water buildup) below his incision.
I wanted to make sure this was normal and didn’t need to have a vet visit. Is it going to go away, or will it eventually drain out etc? Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks Everyone!

Monday, April 19th, 2010Help. My dog is scratching but doesn’t have fleas!
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010Hi, I just read your post on fleas and I wanted to tell you my story and hope you might offer some help.
I have a 10 y/old Chihuahua that’s constantly scratching. I’ve tried giving her a bath every 2 – 3 weeks but that hasn’t helped. She doesn’t have fleas and I haven’t seen anything else on her. Sometimes she scratches till she is almost bleeding.
Could this simply be dry skin?
What else can I do to help her stop scratching?
Please help. She’s miserable.
Thank you,
Diana
