Patty, Lyme disease should be treated with antibiotics aggressively. No holistic meds will help. Mack Barney, DVMFairfield, CA
There are many holistic options for treating Lyme including classical homeopathy, gemmotherapy, homotoxicology. Each pet is individual and requires individualized treatment. However, I would strongly suggest going holistic before resorting to antibiotics, etc. All the best Russell Swift, DVM, HMCTamarac, FLHolistic Practitioner
My friend’s 1 year old Laboradoodle was diagnosed with high kidney levels due to contracting lyme disease. Is there a holistic approach to treating this both through nutrition/food and holistic medication? The dog is very puppy-like, high energy and has shown no signs of lyme disease or any sign of not feeling well and my friend is wondering if she should seek out a 2nd opinion. They live in the NY/NJ metro area but she’s willing to travel to seek out the right treatment. Thank you.
Lyme disease can affect multiple body systems and produce a range of symptoms. Not all patients with Lyme disease will have all symptoms.,”.’”

Lyme disease is named after a cluster of cases that occurred in and around Old Lyme and Lyme, Connecticut in 1975. Before 1975, elements of Borrelia infection were also known as “tick-borne meningopolyneuritis”, Garin-Bujadoux syndrome, Bannwarth syndrome or sheep tick fever.’
