Most common reason dogs get crystals of any kind is the diet, and sometimes the drinking water being high in hard minerals. The reason dogs what renal failure is for the same reasons, plus they don’t drink enough fluids. Don’t feed dry food. Feed fresh food: cooked or raw meats, with veggies and a little whole grain.
