How should my border collie with pancreatitis be kept up at home?

I found our today my 2 year old border collie has a mild case of pancreatitis.    She stayed in the vet for several hours getting fluids and some medicine into her body. Now we are at home and I feel that I need to do more for her. She still is very tired and lounging around. A little bit of nausea as well. Any suggestion?

I’m sure your veterinarian discussed with you that dogs with pancreatitis do better on a bland diet. Boiled chicken, lean hamburger or turkey with white rice for a couple of days can help her feel better. Normally a mild diet that’s lower in fat will help keep this issue from popping up again.

Beyond that, it’ll take a few days for her to feel better, so the best thing you can do for her is to let her rest and make sure she’s not getting worse.

Pancreatitis can be painful and can make a dog feel very worn out. I’m sure with some rest and supervision, she’ll feel better.

    Hope this helps.
