Pet Freebie: Arm & Hammer offers free cat id tag with purchase

Arm & Hammer

Arm & Hammer

Arm & Hammer is partnering with North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) to educate cat owners about the importance of pet identification tags.

To support the collaboration, Arm & Hammer has launched an integrated marketing campaign with the tagline: “Tag a Cat, Save a Life.” Ads will appear on packages of Arm & Hammer cat litter products, online and in handouts delivered to new cat owners at the point of pet adoption.

A print campaign will appear in consumer magazines throughout the summer, including Martha Stewart Living, Redbook, Ladies Home Journal and Family Circle. The campaign also includes online ads on sites including Pet Place, DogTime and Cat Channel.

Model and author Beth Ostrosky Stern (wife of Howard Stern) is a volunteer with NSALA and is a spokesperson for the effort, but will not appear in any A&H marketing materials. She will conduct a radio media tour, says an Arm & Hammer spokesperson.

Cat owners can obtain a free personalized ID tag via mail with the purchase of any two Arm & Hammer cat litters. The promotion ends Dec. 31 and requests must be postmarked by Jan. 15. The campaign will direct consumers to www.pettagoffer.com. The effort was created by Ferrara & Company for Arm & Hammer parent company Church & Dwight. Both are based in Princeton, N.J.  <read more>

    Barbara,

I’m with you. Even Linda’s explanation does not reflect a mailing address for the 2 litter labels, specifically which labels on the box or any shipping and handling fees.

I too want to order a name tag for my cat, but I still have the above questions.

  5. Linda says:

    Hi Sandra,

You’ll need to contact the company itself if you want more information on how to get the free tags. VetLocator.com and Daily Paws are not affiliated with Arm & Hammer.

  6. Sandra says:

    Linda,

Thanks for the info. For me, I think it will be quicker to just buy her one.

  7. Linda says:

I tend to agree with you 🙂

  8. Sioux Taylor says:

What the heck? I’ve scoured the website you told to me to locate, and there is NO information here about how to obtain the Free Pet ID tag via mail.

  9. Linda says:

    Hi Sioux,

It is in the article. It says to go to the site http://www.armandhammer.com/Free-Pet-Tag.aspx and click on the link and follow the instructions found there.

I feel the same. I might even quit buying their products. I cannot stand false advertisement!!!!!!!!! mike from Idaho.

  11. Linda says:

Mike, did you even look at the offer? It expired already. The title says Pet Freebie: Arm & Hammer offers free cat id tag WITH PURCHASE and it expired Jan. 15.

  12. Maria N says:

It’s definitely false advertising, I just bought 2 boxes of litter, when I tried to obtain the free tag, was advised the offer ended on DECEMBER 31, 2010.

I bought the product on January 2011!!!!

  13. Charlotte says:

It seems as if these boxes are just now hitting the stores. I, too, looked and saw that the offer expired 1/15. I bought one box last week and the other or 3/18. Is it the fault of the manufacturer or the stores. Where have the boxes been sitting all this time?

  14. Tammy Aubert says:

I too purchased two 28lb boxes, I have 3 big cats and 2 medium size garment boxes for litter boxes. I have one cat that doesn’t have a tag then I saw the offer on the box. Went on line then noticed the expiration date and was bummed. Whats up with that?

  15. Pete Crooker says:

How does any responsible company put out an offer without an expiration date? Bought my 2nd box April 15 and just learned about the deadline today (5/3/11). Bogus!!

  16. Jacqueline Young says:

Saw this ad on TV came right away. the laugh is on us no free tags!! Learned my lesson ; ( Will NOT be buying this ITEM!

  17. Kathy Benz says:

The offer began Jan 1, 2011 and ends Dec 31, 2011. Buy 2 A&H cat litters, for each tag, mail the receipt(s) with litter purchase circled along with the filled out order form(s) to:

    Arm & Hammer Pet Tag
    c/o ISI
    1195 Goodale Blvd
    Columbus, OH 43212

    Hope this info helps everyone.

    Free dogtags…

[…]Pet Freebie: Arm & Hammer offers free cat id tag with purchase « Daily Paws[…]…

  19. This is bull-crap. I bought several 28lb boxes and was so excited about the prospect of getting tags for my two cats. This broke my heart and I felt scammed.

  20. alyce carroll says:

I just recently noticed the offer on the litter boxes from A&H at WalMart. Now, I read where it expired in 2010? One lady posted an address in Columbus, Ohio and I will try that and see what happens. If it is a hassle, I will buy tags, but I love the product A&H puts out and will continue buying that. It must be another reason for the mix up, maybe the manufacturer?

  21. Marie Siegel says:

Why does everyone say the offer has expired? I sent for two tags..one for each of my two kittens, on July 3/2012…and have yet to receive them. I’m trying to find a way to contact them to find out what the delay is and when I might expect to receive them but so far I can’t find it. The following link shows the expiration dates that I saw…
